Artist Spotlight - Marco Miller
We caught up with one of our Chicago artists, Marco Miller, to pick his brain a little and take a deeper look into how he got started as an artist.
How did you get started with art?
I got started in art when I was young copying comic books and drawing nature. I really started pursuing art in high school. They even had to make a separate AP art class for me and four other students. The painting came later in life, through a depression, and it came so naturally. 2019 is my 6th year painting.

Self-taught
How do you describe your particular style of art?
Controlled chaos. Messy, but structured.
What do you do to help get yourself out of a creative block?
I force myself to create every day no matter what and eventually it will pass.
What is an obstacle you've overcome that you're most proud of?
Portraiture. It used to scare me and now it's my strength.

About Us
PakRat Ink was created from an obsession with street art. Fueled by a desire to make and create something different, this is the first streetwear brand of its kind. Our city focused brand collaborates with local street artists to transform their street art into unique streetwear pieces. Each design begins with an actual photograph of the mural so all of the beautiful, real life details from the artwork are captured. From the texture of a brick wall or wooden fence to the weathered paint chippings, we see the beauty in these imperfections and use them to create something extraordinary. We produce everything in-house at our location in Chicago to ensure the highest quality possible. Find Out More.
